2016 Volunteer of the Year Award-Invest in Others-Honorable Mention
Submitted by Brookhaven Wealth Management on August 21st, 2016As many of you may know I do most of my charitable work serving Visiting Nurse Health System/Hospice Atlanta. They are the largest non-profit provider of home healthcare, long-term care, and hospice services for the Atlanta metropolitan area, never declining anyone based on an inability to pay. I serve on the Advancement committee and as a member of the Chrysalis Club, and work as a counselor/co-facilitator at their bereavement camp, Camp Stars.
This year I was nominated for the Invest in Others Charitable Foundation Volunteer of the Year Award for 2016. “Invest in Others was founded by the financial services industry in 2006 with the mission of amplifying the charitable work of financial advisors and their firms to make a difference in communities across the United States and around the world.” I received an Honorable Mention this year for my work with VNHS. I hope next year I may be able to be a finalist or perhaps win to help shed even more light on the great work the people at VNHS and Hospice Atlanta do each day for the community.
